Remembering my dear little sister Almut, who passed away on this day in 2012. Growing up together as “twins” was one of the greatest joys of my life. I’ll never forget our endless hikes around Lago d’Iseo and Lago di Garda—collecting chestnuts to roast over the open fire at night.

We swam in the lakes, devoured pasta like it was a mission, and patiently followed our parents through every Roman church, museum, and hidden village they brought us to across the Italian countryside.

I’m so grateful we shared unforgettable trips to Venezia, Finale Ligure, Roma, and Firenze. And I’ll always cherish the secret pact we made—to stay together, always.
