Ameerah Shabazz is a special sister, talented photographer, mother and loved in her Newark Community. It was indeed an honor to capture their love on their special day. I had to clear my head Sunday afternoon after losing my mom the day before. I was walking in downtown South Orange and I ran into festivities. I heard the voice of and I was compelled to see who was singing. I got my love for music, event promotion and photography from my mom and so it seemed right to stop and decompress and hear what was going on. Chaance show was a Erykah Badu Neyo Soul tribute set but the song that stood out was an original song called YoYo that was dedicated to her grandmother and mom. I believe the word YoYo means mother. It was so beautiful and I believe that my mom guided me there to hear it. I whipped out my camera and started to capture the audience and the show. It gave me a brief respite from my sadness Thank you for helping me get thru a difficult weekend. I wish you great success. Here’s to you as we go “On and On”.
