As omicron surges and holidays grow near, I have some announcements:

The January 8th Mother series at is now cancelled out of an abundance of caution and respect for the health of all the vulnerable little babes and mamas I was so looking forward to working with. Those who have signed up should have received a full refund this morning.

Stay safe, and please please take extra care of yourself. Be mindful of others and put health above all else. Life is so precious.

So incredibly thankful for all of the mothers who have signed up for the limited series event in January. There are only a handful of spots still remaining - if you’re interested but have some questions, I’m putting together an FAQ as I finalize the details.

Let me paint the picture further: as you enter ahead of your appointment time, you’re welcomed with champagne while you select from the dozens of size-inclusive gowns, skirts and other wardrobe options (if you don’t already come wearing a piece you love); you have your makeup touched up by as you wait for your appointment time; you catch a glimpse of the family before you finishing up as we shoot between a few setups. Click, click, boom.

You don’t leave before picking your final favorites. In a few days, you receive the final, retouched gorgeous images to treasure for generations.

This is a day meant to honor, celebrate, support. To few beautiful again, powerful. To fill cups that are probably empty.

I can’t emphasize enough the importance of filling those cups. Full disclosure - I’ve let mine go empty too many times the past 18 months since becoming a mother. If I have any power to bring anyone back from empty, I will happily wield it.

MOTHER, a limited series

If you ever wanted to be a part of my Maternity in Quarantine series - now is your chance.

I am teaming up with on January 8th, 2022 for a day of portraits. The Nesting Place is an incredible local resource for mothers all over Long Island, NY (where I am based). They were vital to my postpartum success - connecting mothers to therapists, support groups, mommy and me classes, and more.

Portraits will be loosely based on select paintings depending on families signed up. Wardrobe and makeup touch ups provided.

We will be gifting one slot to one nomination-based mother. (more information to come)

Divine timing.

Happy Mother’s Day, from me and this little hoagie who made me a mother.

Happy Mother’s Day to the woman who raised me Jane Phaup McCarthy (in front of the Cassatt that started it all) and who continues to raise me.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers who gave me strength when I did not have it; who saw themselves in my portraits; who felt as I felt this year. To the mothers who reminded me that no one can do it alone - to the village.

May we be safely supported by our villages again soon. Xo 😷

Maternity in Quarantine series will debut at the BWAC Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition spring show, opening this weekend! Stop by if you can - it will be up for a few weeks!

Four art exhibitions will debut at the Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition's Van Brunt Street gallery May 8, and run for six weeks.
