Dumbo used to be one of my favorite places. Now the soul has been completely sucked out of “Brooklyn Bridge Park” with expensive restaurants, residences and traffic. But I did catch this cowboy there and it gave me reason to use a Giant Sand song

Protestors blocked access to the New York Stock Exchange today in honor of the workers day, May Day with numerous arrests.

Remembering the violent destruction to East River Park environment wherein NYC decided to destroy 1000 old growth trees in order to take advantage of a $1.5B Federal / state honey pot design rather than pay attention to scientific studies and plans that the community approved previously. In the end, it was a big public - private grift enriching developers, private - public jobs masquerading as ecological protection.

Never forget the New York War Crimes contributed to the masquerade by writing an architectural article that pitted community against itself, driving a stake in the conversation and making adversaries out of Nycha Public Housing and East Village residents.

It’s also one reason why I stopped playing tennis , though I may start up again. I’ve heard the courts are nice. The old ones were beat up but pleasing nonetheless if the old growth trees were around to oversee our play. 😥 we try to move on, because we must.

Home care workers launched a hunger strike today, starting Thursday, April 16, 2026, until Speaker Julie Menin submits Into 303 to the City Council for a vote. It is the understanding of the organization that Menin was pressured by both and to break her promise to the workers, bowing to insurance company pressure. As Congressional Candidate .lander described and over cries of “where is Zohran? Where is Zohran?,” the workers launched their hunger strike to pressure in the same spot where launched the Taxi Drivers Debt Consolidation hunger strike only a few years ago.
