While the world was caught up in World Cup fever, Hubert Kang found his sports heroes on the street courts of Thailand.
No huge stadiums or roaring crowds. Just incredible athletes showing up, playing hard and then heading back to their everyday lives.
Hubert wanted to photograph them with the same attention and presence given to the world’s most famous athletes.
In his eyes, these street legends are the real SUPERSTARS.

He was instantly hooked

The faces of SIDE B.

A closer look at the personalities that bring Carla Blumenkrantz’s Side B to life.

Candid, confident, awkward, cool. Each portrait captures a different piece of that in-between time when you’re figuring out who you are, who your people are, and where you belong.

A personal project rooted in youth, friendship and nostalgia.

Friendship, freedom, first crushes and the feeling that summer might last forever.

Photographer + Director Carla Blumenkrantz brings the world of Side B to life in this nostalgic short film inspired by the mid-1980s.

A little imperfect. A little bittersweet. Just like the memories that inspired it.
