For all artists who have been bullied simply for standing up for their rights — I see you.
For nearly six months, I’ve dealt with daily hate mail, violent threats, and press spins during the lawsuit filed against me by Amy Taylor of Amyl and the Sniffers.
I am simply defending my work and speaking openly about artists’ rights while fighting this lawsuit on my own, without a lawyer and without a fancy press team. It has not been easy to have this level of negativity infiltrate my life, but I will not be silenced and I will not back down.
I am incredibly grateful for the support so many people have shown me throughout this process. It has meant more than you know.
What many people don’t see is that intimidation from public figures, management teams, lawyers, PR machines, and online mobs often happens behind closed doors. Most independent artists do not have the financial resources, legal support, or platform to stand up for themselves publicly when this happens.
That culture of intimidation needs to be brought to light — and it needs to stop.
I have spoken out about my restraining order petition involving Amy Taylor in the hope that it helps others feel less alone and can navigate resources within the law to protect themselves.
