How to prepare for a headshot session? That is the question.
The advice is endless. What to wear, find your angles, thousands of tutorials on how to look natural.
But here’s what I’ve learned after twenty years behind the camera: the best sessions aren’t the ones where people showed up overprepared. They’re the ones where people showed up.
Make mistakes. Laugh at yourself. That’s where the real stuff comes through.

Your hair doesn’t need to be perfect. It just needs to feel like you.
Here’s what actually helps before a headshot session:
→ Come with clean, styled hair. The way you’d show up to an audition or meeting. → Avoid major changes right before. New cuts and colors need time to settle. → Bring a brush or comb. Flyaways happen. We’ll fix them together. → Skip heavy products. Natural movement photographs better than stiff hair.
Not sure what works? We’ll figure it out together. That’s what I’m here for.

The technical stuff. Chin position, angle, lighting. That’s my job.
