there’s something about this photo that i just can’t explain.
it feels like a photograph you’d find tucked away in an old family album years from now. the kind of picture your grandchildren would pull out, look at, and say, “wow, look at how beautiful things were back then.”
and i think that’s one of my favorite things about photography. not just capturing what life looks like right now, but creating something that will mean even more as the years go by.
i’ve been thinking about bringing a little more of this feeling into my galleries. keeping my signature edits that you know and love, but choosing a handful of images to edit with a more nostalgic, heirloom feel. a little more timeless, a little more film-like, and a little more like the photographs we grew up finding in our grandparents’ homes.
because someday, these won’t just be wedding photos, family photos, or pictures of your babies growing up.
they’ll be the good old days.
and i think there’s something really special about that.
