FINALLY BACK TO WRITING

Well...it has been some time since I last wrote anything for my blog.
SORRY!

I meant to keep up with my writing, but all sorts of events got in the way. So much has happened over the last 18months that there is much to catch up on. I guess one advantage now is that I have a ton of things I can write about.

Architecture in concert with nature.

architecture all by itself can be really interesting, but I find it really comes alive and gets interesting when Mother Nature interacts with it. On its own during the daytime, this man-made pond, bridge, and building do not offer much, but as the sun started to set, I found this scene came alive. The way the bridge caught the light made it really interesting and worth taking a few shots off.

In hindsight, I wish I had brought an ND filter with me. I could have done a long exposure and gotten the water flatter, but I happened across this while going somewhere else and was not actually prepared for this photo.

Pacific Coast and US 1

I did want to see the Pacific and the western coast of the USA, so I had to head further south and into California to get a proper view of both. It sure did not disappoint at all! What an amazing vista to behold. The ocean is so very vast, the deep blue stretching out as far as the eye could see.

Alone and lost!

I went to the Pacific coastline in Oregon. When I drove off from Portland, where I was staying, the sky was an azure blue with a dazzling sun slowly rising behind me. I was expecting a brilliant sunny day at the coast, I wanted some fast ocean and coastline photos.

Oh boy, was I in for a surprise once I got to the coast. Fog, fog, and, you guessed it, more, way more, fog.

I am not going to complain; I loved it, and the photos I got from that trip were amazing, too.

Temples in Taiwan are a sight to behold.

There are so many temples in Taiwan, there are more than 15,000 temples, including Taoist, Buddhist, I-Kuan Tao, and Kuan Yu temples (in order of most to least temple count).

This is the Lukang Longshan Temple, located in Changhua County. It is a meticulously preserved cultural site, originally built in 1786 and renovated in 2008, Lukang Longshan Temple is known as the most well-preserved historic site in Taiwan. This classic temple, which primarily worships Guanyin, features stone sculptures, woodcarving, hand-painting, and ridge cresting. And it is recognized as one of the most beautiful temples in Taiwan.

I highly suggest that if you are ever in Taiwan, you take a trip and check it out. As well as many of the other temples in Taiwan. They are truly beautifully decorated.
