I love how the Olympic Peninsula has millions of these tiny, no-name waterfalls to that everyone seems to pass up, but if you know where to look, they're often more spectacular than the main attractions everyone comes to see.

This little rivulet was off the side of the trail in the Sol Duc River Valley. I stopped thinking take a 5 minute break, snap a few pictures and be done. I ended up staying for an hour.

And I'm so glad I did.

Marymere Falls, just πŸ‘¨β€πŸ³πŸ’‹

It's been a few years since last I've posted on this account. For a while, I'd lost my drive when it came to photography. As I find my way back to the hobby, I can't promise I'll post regularly. But I will try to post more frequently.

Here's to getting back on the horse.

For me, hummingbirds are so fun to look at but so difficult to photograph.

On our first full day in country we went to some hummingbird feeders ~2 hrs from San JosΓ©, and of all the birds that were flitting around for the 2 hours we were there, this was the only decent shot I got of one.

It's a little disappointing to take hundreds of pictures and only walk away with images that are only okay. But while moments like this can be considered failures, they are also opportunities to progress and improve. And in that sense, this photo is a win for me.

What are some of your images you think are successful failures? DM me your pictures you think are not great but important to your development as a photographer; I'd love to learn from you.

Of all the birds we saw in Costa Rica, the motmots were my favorite. There's just nothing like them where I live.

We saw several different species over the course of our short trip, but this Turquoise-browed Motmot was the most spectacular!
