Hey friends!

Sorry for the radio silence lately. I just wanted to fill you in after my trip to Hawaii – it was absolutely incredible! But getting back into the swing of things with photography has been a bit of a struggle.

After some serious soul-searching, I’ve realized I need to take a step back for a while. So, I’ve decided to hit pause on regularly scheduling sessions. It’s a tough decision, but I believe it’s necessary to reconnect with what truly fuels my creativity.

During this break, I’m diving headfirst into family time, especially as we kick off our homeschooling adventure with my oldest. I’m confident that this break will give me the breather I need and spark some fresh creativity for even better photos when I’m back in action!

Thanks a million for your understanding and ongoing support. I’ll catch up with you all real soon!

This is your reminder that your kids deserve to be documented at every age not just the toddler years. Feeling inspired after week 3 of The Art of Emotion coaching. Can’t wait to have time off in Hawaii to process all the goodness she teaches on and document my girls. Will my camera ever leave my hand? Probably not!

It means the world to me and I am so honored you let me in to capture your special moments. Tonight is my last session before our month long trip to Hawaii!

I see and hear a lot of photographers being inspired by TV shows and movies. I get inspired by books. Children’s books, books I’m reading, magazines. I love looking through illustrations in children’s books and noticing the colors and the details of the images. I draw inspiration from books I’m reading by imagining what the scene looks like and wanting to recreate that. Inspiration can come from so many places! I have always had a hard time gathering it from TV and movies though. Because of this I have at times thought I must not be creative but it is only recently that I have realized that my creativity comes from something else entirely. I wanted to share this for the photographers who might feel the same way or might be searching for inspiration but don’t know where to find it. You don’t have to find inspiration in the ways others do. That seems the least creative of all.

Happy December! Tonight was my last photo shoot of 2023. And what a year it’s been. I can’t thank you all enough for your support this year. You will never know how much it means to me.

This year started off with me, being newly pregnant, and basically one with the toilet. I was so sick. I didn’t want anything to do with photography. I took a lot of time off because of it. And it turns out I needed it more than I knew. This year I told myself I would stick to my 365 project of documenting my daily life. I didn’t document every single day, but overall I documented us more, and that was the real goal. Documenting our family and our time together reignited that spark that I needed for my photography journey.

I realized how cliquey the photography community can be…only to realize that I was better off without them in my corner to begin with. I found my own community of amazing photographers that I couldn’t be more thankful for!

I had so many new adventures and started new endeavors this year. My 2023 photography journey was definitely different than I thought it would be, but it was so good. I already can’t wait to create magic next year! Now, time to finish up the rest of these galleries, but don’t worry I’ll still be posting to the gram. Thankful for all of you!
