Some days they seem so big, and then I see photos like these and remember how little they still are. Iā€™d love to pause time for a bit, but Iā€™ll settle for cupcakes, party blowers, and a photo šŸ˜Š

I just had to get in on the Valentineā€™s Day cuteness with my girls šŸ˜. I do still have a few V-Day sessions open if you want in too!

For anyone new here, hi! Iā€™m Christina, a stay at home, homeschooling mom of four, and Iā€™ve loved taking photos of my kids since my oldest was a baby. Not in a polished, curated way, but in an ā€œI want to remember how this actually feltā€ kind of way.

The first ā€œin the boxā€ photos happened almost by accident. I saw a Pinterest video last year and set up a cardboard box and my tripod at our extended family Christmas party. With 24 people, it was a bit ambitious for a first try! But it was us and it was imperfect and I loved it.

A year later, I asked my brother-in-law to build me a real box so we could do it again. While editing those photos, I figured out how to make my baby nephewā€™s little feet dangle into the box below, and suddenly I couldnā€™t stop thinking about how far I could push it.

That itch led to doing one for a friend, and then another, and now to this. My goal with every shoot is to capture the little moments in between the poses, the giggles, the looks, the chaos that makes us look back later and say, ā€œoh yeah, I remember that phase.ā€ Little Box Portraits is just a small way of holding onto childhood as it is right now. šŸ¤
