Capturing the charm of New Orleans and beyond.

Living near the Big Easy engrained a culture found nowhere else on Earth that I love to share. My parents are from South Dakota, and I spent many summers on road trips across America to see family and experience stops acro
ss the country, especially the Midwest. In 2023, I earned my 4th degree black belt. I continue to mix my many passions as illustrated by my photo showing a mid-air kick. After high school, I graduated from the US Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. I played around with cameras a little bit in high school and purchased my first digital camera while a cadet. I was a pilot in the Air Force, living in multiple states. While deployed to Iraq, I was introduced to a photographer deployed with me and was inspired by his images. After returning home, I started upgrading my cameras and experimenting more and more. I am self-taught, but my hunger for pushing the art led me to learn more from anyone with something to offer. After the Air Force, I moved to Victoria, TX for 5 years, where I joined a local photography club. A talented group I honed my skills even more with their technique inputs. New Orleans was still calling as I would run to the French Quarter at 4 A.M. to capture the empty streets with shadows and light in my style. A twist of fate brought me back home for the third time and I've been expanding my library of images since then. The images are a visual quilt of my experiences with trips through Texas, time in New Orleans, travels to New Mexico, and a couple pieces of American history, and documentation of my time near New Orleans since 2019. The images share the impacts of hurricanes Harvey and IDA, and document images during COVID that are nearly unheard of at any other time. I love shooting various festivals, celebrations, and especially Mardi Gras. I hope you enjoy my images too. I have used a Nikon D300, D7100, and D850, and also use a CALF VR for 3D images. If in the New Orleans area, please stop at Destrehan Plantation for a history lesson, and even more images in the gift shop.
