On Friday I was given the amazing opportunity to photograph not just one, but TWO sweet baby boys—Aiden and Emmett. Their wonderful parents, Lauren and Ian, were absolutely lovely and the perfect subjects for my very first twin session!

Around 60% of twins are born before 37 weeks, and about 10% are born before 32 weeks.

Hi! My name is Carly and I am the creater and photographer behind Brave Beginnings NICU Photography. Brave Beginnings NICU Photography is a heartfelt, and totally free, NICU photography service dedicated to honoring the strength, resilience, and love found in the earliest and most fragile beginnings of life. This service Is offered to all NICU families at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital. Created to serve parents and babies navigating the NICU journey, its purpose is to preserve meaningful moments that might otherwise go undocumented, offering parents tangible reminders of their baby’s story, strength, and existence during an incredibly emotional time. Rooted in compassion, advocacy, and respect, Brave Beginnings Photography aims to not only provide beautiful images but also to raise awareness about the NICU experience, support families through visibility and validation, and ensure every tiny fighter and their parents are seen, remembered, and celebrated.
