Sarah was kind enough to let me practice butterfly lighting on her the other day. After struggling with the C-stand and nearly throwing a light and soft box out the window, we got these. Not quite, but also not too bad :D

Tried to take a self-portrait with the cat for a Christmas card. I think it’s pretty safe to say he was not digging the holiday bow tie, wanted to go back to sleep, and would not be smiling for the camera, please and thank you.

Came across this photo today. Tried to put my hair up before the camera started firing and didn’t quite make it.

“Didn’t quite make it” with a lot of things over the past few weeks and I definitely feel some guilt and disappointment about it.

Looking at this photo, I realized that even though I was super frustrated during the process and it didn’t turn out the way I wanted, it’s still a photo that I actually enjoy and want to keep. Just because I didn’t do all the things I’d set out to do doesn’t diminish the value of the things that I did manage to accomplish.

Here’s your sign to be kind to yourself and celebrate the little victories.

The backdrop stand and backdrop paper saga is mostly over (thank God XD) Got in front of the camera to test some light and things, and did a small witchy shoot for Halloweekend. Not too bad! Rufus even behaved for two seconds and got an acceptable shot in :P
