Why I Do What I Do

Recently, a client sent me a message that deeply touched my heart.

She is currently facing a difficult health journey, including brain tumors and the challenges that come with recovery and treatment. In the middle of all that uncertainty, she shared something I'll never forget:

"When I have down days, I put on praise music and look through your art."

She went on to tell me that the rivers, landscapes, and quiet moments captured in my photographs bring her a sense of peace. She said the images remind her of God's majesty, His creation, and His presence in the midst of life's storms.

As I read her words, I was reminded why I started Images of Texas.

My mission has never simply been to decorate walls. My mission is to glorify God through His beautiful creation and to bring a sense of calm into a chaotic world.

Many people see a photograph of a river, a field of wildflowers, or a Texas sunrise and think, "That's beautiful."

But sometimes, for someone carrying a heavy burden, that same image becomes something more. It becomes a place to rest. A reminder to breathe. A glimpse of hope. A moment of peace.

Knowing that my artwork has provided comfort to someone walking through such a difficult season is one of the greatest honors of my life and work.

I often spend hours waiting for the perfect light, hiking trails, standing in rivers, and chasing sunrises across Texas. In moments like this, I realize those efforts are about much more than creating photographs. They're about sharing the beauty God has already created and helping others experience it, even when they can't be there themselves.

To my client: thank you for allowing me to be a small part of your journey. Your faith, courage, and gratitude are an inspiration. I am praying for your upcoming surgery and believing God will continue to strengthen and sustain you.

And to everyone reading this: if one of my photographs has ever brought you peace, encouraged you, or reminded you of God's goodness, I'd love to hear your story.

Sometimes we never know how far a simple image can reach.
