Sarcastic but applicable...I had a bride the other day suggest that I photograph her wedding at a steep discount (almost free) for the "exposure"...bc her venue and set up will be so pretty due to her large budget (um..if you have a large budget, why can't you allocate some of that to photography?). I don't think ppl mean to insult when they suggest such things...they are just looking for a deal and thinking only of themselves not the hours that go into editing a long event like a wedding. As for the bride, I explained that although her wedding did sound awesome, I have to be compensated with actual dollars for my time or I will relax on a Saturday evening rather than shoot a wedding plus if I booked her wedding for next to nothing, it is Murphy's Law that a couple of weeks from now a paying customer would inquire about her date. ;) http://beezlystreet.com/2015/04/28/exposure-now-legal-tender-for-photographers/
