Something Corporate…the subject matter, not the band. 🎹🤣

Last year I had the chance to create updated headshots and environmental portraits for the team at Accordion, for use across their website, marketing materials, and beyond.

Sourcing furniture, wrangling calendars, and making portraits that actually show some personality? That’s what I do. Honestly, it’s what I live for. 🐙

Fall-ing for a little Polo in the park! 🏇It’s always a perk to work with a newer model and help develop their book. Do they need kick ass photos? Sure! But really they need strategic shots that make them bookable in the right industry (like commercial work or fashion). AND it’s even more fun to take said photos when it’s not 100 degrees outside. 🤣 Keep an eye on Tensent Kruse, he absolutely crushed it during his session. 🙌

Shot these earlier this year with Jack Ross. They were nestled in my digital hoarding spot waiting patiently to see the light of day. 🤣 Went back in this week to bring ‘em to life (Evanescence approved haha). Incorporated some texture, a little extra color grading, some warping for a little twist … and now it finally looks like what was in my head the whole time. Oh what a special place to be! 🫠

For creative shoots, with all kinds of freedom, round one is always about laying some good groundwork: light, expression, wardrobe, the necessary stuff. Round two is where you actually get to get your hands dirty and play!!

Not many people walk into a headshot session super excited. I’ve even had a few people say that it’s right up there with going to the dentist. 😬

Geaneen included. She’s a lawyer and very used to being in control of a room, but not so used to being told where to put her hands for a camera. Which is fair. I don’t know what to do with my hands half the time either. 🤣

We ran through a couple of the “safe” corporate poses first, but that stock-photo feeling just wasn’t cutting it. Then I gave her a little direction: cross your arms (bad ass), put your weight on your back leg (a little sass), and smile like you've just won the case!

That’s the photo you’re looking at.

And honestly, that’s the biggest part of the job. Not the lighting, not the backdrop … figuring out what gets someone out of “posing” and into just being themselves in front of a camera. You show up and I guide you there. 📸🙌

Also, don’t you dare judge that crinkled seamless paper. It was a long day, okay, and photos were thigh up 🤣
