Just finished this new photo encaustic piece, Morning Glory. I love how it stands so proudly in the morning light. One of the great things about morning glories is that it reseeds itself and comes back year after year. This is 16 x 20 and adhered to a wood panel. Soaked in encaustic medium and coated in cold wax for a beautiful finish.

I think this one would be beautiful printed quite large as a statement piece. You can find it here: http://sandyburrphotography.faso.com/portfolio-viewer?collection=178464 =1&artworkId=4723625

Can you guess what this is an image of? Hostas! Love how this ICM image turned out. The blues, greens and yellows make for a fresh color palette. Currently offered as a print but I’m thinking it’d make a great encaustic piece. Thoughts?

How do you photograph your artwork? I use my back porch—good indirect outdoor light that results in an accurate color image. I use a tripod for tack sharpness. Have your camera lens be even with the center of the piece for no distortion.
