For the third consecutive year we did a little impromptu portrait session around the Belmont University Campus after Sara performed at the Belmont String Crossings Concert this past weekend. The sun was high in the sky, which is not great for outdoor shots, but we were still able to find some good spots. Let us know your thoughts. Which ones are your favorites?

What do you do when you have an outdoor session planned and it pours down rain? Well, with no option to reschedule, you make the best of it!

I’ve known this sweet family for over 30 years, and it was a blessing to be able to take these shots, even in less than ideal conditions. They were game to pivot from our original plans, so we piled into a picnic shelter in Edwin Warner Park, cleared away the tables, setup some temporary lighting, and got to work capturing the moment. Everybody did great, and we even grabbed a few shots with umbrellas in the rain.

It has been a while since I’ve posted any of my work, but I had to share some of these shots of my beautiful daughter Sara taken in downtown Nashville just before the 2025 Spotlight Awards.

The awards ceremony was held at the Tennessee Performance Arts Center this past Saturday (May 17), so we decided to arrive a little early and walk around downtown looking for interesting spots to capture some memories from the evening. Some of these places included Printer’s Alley, the Arcade, and outside the main branch of the Nashville Public Library. We love how these turned out! We love this family so much and I was thrilled when they asked me to take Kyle’s senior portraits. We used multiple locations around Clarksville, Tennessee. This included Kyle’s high school, McGregor Park on the Cumberland River, and downtown Clarksville. Kyle did amazing throughout!

He is very involved in music and at his school we got in a few pics with two of his instruments. We also squeezed in a few with his Chevy pickup truck.

My favorite spot was the pedestrian bridge crossing Riverside Drive near downtown. We lucked out with timing on the bridge and I was able to get an awesome sunstar over his right shoulder.

These types of sessions are our specialty. We strive to offer a totally customized experience, in meaningful locations, with flexible session times.
