Whenever he was born he got sent to the nicu because he had a stroke in utero. He healed from that but 7 months later I noticed he was really sick and lethargic. I took him to multiple ERs, they did X-rays and ultrasounds and said he was constipated. His tummy was so swollen. I wasn’t taking that for an answer. I kept going and they kept sending me home. Eventually I took him out of state to a different ER and they told me he has leukemia. Normal white blood cell count is 20,000. His was higher than 555,000. He has leukemia ALL and AML. The cancer spread to his spleen, liver, spinal fluid and brain. He has to stay in the hospital for a few months the drs aren’t really sure when he’ll get to go home for he’s really sick. They’re giving him steroids and chemotherapy through his spine and iv in the leg. As of right now we’re behind on rent, I will be in the hospital alone with him because my fiancé has to go back home (4 hours away) work so we can afford bills. We were not prepared for something like this. It hit us out of no where. One day we were taking a nice warm bath and eating French toast and in a span of hours he was diagnosed with cancer.
