day 7 and final day of summer mini's......done!

this is my 7th year also of doing these poolside summer mini's. they are so hard on me, but man they are so much fun! and my plan is to keep on doing these till the carter's move from mount pleasant. that being said, i need to clear up a few things and make sure you all know how i will now be running HCP. i'm also pinning this post to the top of the page in cast you need to come back to the page to refresh your memory 🤣

I AM SEMI RETIRING. NOT FULLY RETIRING. y'all would kill me if i did that. but today is my last day of posting on this page. it is NOT me being finished with photography. as long as i live in mount pleasant, i will continue or until i break another camera. IYKYK. i just need to get rid of some things that take up too much of my time, and one of those is posting on this page. not deleting this page. wanna keep it up because of the 12 years of memories. i won't be checking messages on this page either. done with it. i will no longer be posting my work, my clients will do that if they want on their pages. i will continue to do sneak peeks, but to the client via text or messenger. also, when i do summer mini's again, i'll just make a quick post on my personal page. i'm ONLY doing shoots for regulars. who is a regular? someone that uses me all the freakin time. and doing pics for my friends. and just for people i just really like too 😂😅

if regulars/friends need a shoot, just text or message me 2-4 weeks before you would like to do it. i can't book out too far anymore. these teenager schedules may be the death of me.

it's time for me to focus on my people. my husband. my children. my dogs. my cat. and maybe even start cooking for my family a little more. it's been about 8 years since i've done it.

day 6 of summer mini's......done.

y'all tired of seeing these yet?! if you are, tomorrow is the last day. praise the lord! the heat. the sweat. my ankle. i've about had it with all three of those. today was full of happy kids and adults.....and just a couple unhappy babies at some point. but managed to get all the good pics before meltdowns happened. and i had to make one mom get in the pool. her kid only wanted on the float if mom held the float. not my lifeguard. these mini's are only 10-15 min long, so i will parents help in any way possible to make sure they get all the fun pics in that short amount of time. i have it down to a science!

now bring on day 7. THE LAST DAY!!!!!!!!

day 5 of summer mini's......done!

WHEW! today was a freakin day. lots of firsts. lets break it down...

before picture one, while i was getting set up, i went into the second garage where my daughter parks, to get some prop stuff out of there. that girls car was running. like she left it on all night running. i had to get that garage aired out. any critters in that garage, they dead. and right before said daughter was to get in the pool for the first mini, a bee stung her foot. the drama.

Pic 1: she witnessed the bee sting and carried on with the mini like a boss.
Pic 2: jackson would be my first kid to show up to a summer mini with crutches. him and i wobbled around like a boss.
Pic 3: all this kid wanted to do is be in the pool on a float. he didn't have time for any of the snow cone crap.
Pic 4: kid in the middle use to hold the title youngest human to ever come to one of my summer mini's. she was 2 weeks old for that one a couple years ago. well new sister just CRUSHED that record. and i highly doubt ANY one will ever be able to break the record (for my summer mini that is).......she is TWOOOO DAYS OLD!!!! long story how it all came about, but i'm so so glad it worked out!!!!
Pic 5: first time ever the kids came up to me after the shoot and requested a particular picture for their sneak peek. your wish is my command.
Pic 6: first time i've ever had fun hair that looked so awesome with my setup!
Pic 7: imma try to make this short. i have never been more scared of a toddler in all my life than with this one. the one crying. IYKYK. if she saw that i was looking at her, from like 50 feet away, she'd lose her mind. if chloe got near her, the meltdown got louder. mom brought a friend to help her with the kids. well that friend turned into heidi carter photography. i showed her a few things on my camera. turned the camera over to her and chloe and i went in the house and hid behind the shades.
Pic 8: this is what happens when the new heidi carter photographer works her magic with the scary toddler. and i'm so proud of her for the images she captured. freakin maddyn smiled from ear to ear for the new photographer.

day 4 of summer mini's.......done!
i'm so tired just from life today i don't have anything creative to say. other than today was another easy perfect day. did have a 15 min delay this evening with excessive storm wind. i'm limping everywhere. but i'm making it and i absolutely love doing these with all these humans. they truly make this such a blast!

day 3 of summer mini's.......done!
today was another easy day with just 4 minis. praise the lord because 30 min before my first mini i had a big fall and broke my body. and i've been dramatic all day about it. speaking of dramatic......please check out last pic. this 14 (almost 15) year old young man that i have known for a long time had his fun at the very end of the shoot. he wanted to jump in for a pic. i let him. and please check out his face. i knew right then in there, in that split second when i saw that determination in his face, he was gonna cannon ball the water all over me. and he did. no worries, i moved the camera real fast so it didn't get wet 🤣

day 2 of the summer minis......done! today was going to be my busiest day of the week. and so glad it was at the beginning of the week. today was hot. today was easy. only 2 accidentally fell in the pool. and a whole lotta others just jumped on in it. and only had one kid that did not like me. it's very easy to figure out which kid. just through all the images, you'll see it.

day 1 of summer mini's.....done.
i have 7 days of these and this was my easiest day. short sweet and to the point.......these 4 mini's were easy easy! we all survived the offensive heat too. i swear with each one of these summer minis are my favorite, but this is a new favorite again. the colors are so fun! and the snow cones are a great incentive to cooperate and get them at the end of the shoot. i decided doing it at the beginning wasn't a fabulous idea. smiling with blue and red mouths isn't cute. and who wants to hear the BEST news of all of this?!?!? i get to start editing these mini's on tuesday. like tuesday THIS WEEK! it has taken me 2 years of slowly cutting back to get to this point. and i shocked all the clients tonight when i told them they will have these by the end of the week. i swear this isn't a joke 🤣😍

now bring on day 2 tomorrow!

i know this face. i've seen it many times over the last 12 years of doing shoots. he's so excited to throw the dirt in his hands on me. and i freakin let them do it every time. editing sweet rhett today!

just a sad YET exciting reminder.......one week from today i will no longer be posting on this page. still doing shoots for my regulars and friends. but it's time for me to go into "hiding" for a while to focus on my family more. my middle child is gonna be a senior this year and the boy of mine is gonna be a freshman. and if you know him, he is a full time job keeping him out of trouble. or at least try too. i thought when they were little they kept me busy. nah man, it's these teenagers.

tomorrow starts my summer minis and will run through the whole week. be on the look out for all the sneak peeks this week!
