Thank you Starry Night Art Gallery of Daytona Beach for allowing me to show my art as part of the "I am Daytona Beach" Group Art Show. The Daytona Beach theme of seascapes, beach art, ocean paintings and wildlife was great fun.

This show was a month long art exhibit catering to lovers of the ocean, coastal art and art collectors around the Daytona Beach, Florida area that came to see and enjoy Florida art at its finest.

When you miss the sun....

I guess you can say I have always been a bit of a sun worshipper at heart but I love the SON who made the Sun although lately it seems like the sun shine has been pretty absent lately and the cold winter blahs is getting on my nerves as Samuel L. Jackson would say (minus the colorful expletives of course).

So when I was a kid, to beat the winter blues, I started to paint the sun and warm tropical places that I dreamed and wished I could teleport to in order to escape the cold.

This was one of my first oil paintings I ever made. I painted this painting in 8th grade in Junior High School. Foolislly, I sold it to a man for dirt cheap and never saw it again but I did make prints of it and probably will paint it again in oils to recreate it.

In the meantime, here is "Let the Tide Roll in", a painting of a tropical sunset in Hawaii being enjoyed by birds watching the tide roll in while taking in a glorious sunset.

Winter is Boring! So Let the Light In...

Winter is boring, Let the Light In
(An Orignal Sunset Painting to let the light in your home).

I have always been drawn to the light of the world and love seeing a sunset and sunrise over the ocean and a trip to the beach to take in the waves, the sand and the surf.

Some of you that have been friends with me since college may recognize this painting. I sold a copy to a friend and to one of my college professors and it is one of my favorites so I just finished a new rendition of this painting using acrylic paint and just completed matting and framing it under plexiglass so it is more shatter proof and light weight and easy to hang.

Creating Art that you can feel and experience in a whole new level

I had an art collector once tell me that she liked paintings that she could touch and feel the paint and textures and experience not just with her eyes but with her hands.

So I created this original oil painting that had layers and layers of paint even in tne branches of the trees and plants.

To get this effect, I painted this painting using a fan brush and palette knife, adding in layers of painted texture to the mountains and trees, which you can feel with your hands when you touch the canvas. I added paint to my palette knife that I could spread on like stucco on a wall and the effect was well received by my collector friend.

This original 12" x 16" size oil painting on canvas is small enough to carry in your hands and yet bold enough in colors to add some color and character to any room in your home or office.

Sunrise over the Ocean

There is something peaceful yet powerful about the ocean. Just hearing the waves and watching the tide roll in at your feet is something money cannot buy.

I painted this acrylic painting of a morning sunrise over the ocean to show the contrast of colors of blue and orange sunlight reflecting in the water. It was my late wife's favorite painting, I call it "Morning Glory". I painted this painting to bring my love of the ocean into my home and add some color, peace and joy to my home and I have it available for purchase.

This painting is double matted and framed in a brass metal frame under plexiglass that is light, easy to pick up and hang on the wall and has all hardware included. No assembly required. Just find a nice spot to hang this picture and let the sun come in to bring warmth and peace into your home.

"The Pelican Party"

One of my favorite places to visit is the Florida Keys where I took this photograph of a large group of Pelicans flying inland.
Like clockwork, they fly in every day to get a meal at a local bird sanctuary where I was able to handfeed these amazing birds and visit with them up close.

While there, I took this series of photographs and created this framed and matted fine art print of these Pelicans inflight.
This double matted and framed photograph captures Florida's Wildlife Birds in motion for all to enjoy.

The Three Peaks of Misty Mountain

This is an original oil painting that I painted with a fan brush and palette knife, adding in layers of painted texture to the mountains and trees, which you can feel with your hands when you touch the canvas.

Growing up in Virginia, I loved visiting the Mountains in the fall and seeing the leaves change colors. The mountains some times call out to me as does the beach and the ocean and I love and visit both as often as I can but when I cannot visit them, I paint them and bring them home to me through paint brush and canvas. "The Call of Fall, The Autumn Forest"

Waking up the world

I was in Deerfield Beach, Florida one Christmas and it was one of the most enjoyable Christmases I have had. I almost did not go as there was supposed to be a tropical storm hitting the shore. I had a four hour drive in front of me and had made reservations at the hotel overlooking this view of the ocean. I was not sure if I should go or not but took a leap of faith and made the drive. So needless to say, It was worth the drive.

I had a great time and woke up one morning to capture this beautiful sunrise. These images are for sale frame or unframed, 24" x 36" in size. Imagine waking up every day with this view to behold?
Sometimes you have to take a leap of faith and put your trust in the Lord who leads, guides and directs your paths. He calms the storms of life and sets your paths straight if you will just trust Him. He is the one who calms the seas and hung the stars in place just by speaking them into existance.
