I DID IT!!! It’s Jana Jenkins fault.😂
I did 12 5K’s in one month!! (5K is 3.1 miles)

It all started in October when Jana did a challenge for the staff at the school where I teach. The goal was to walk 1 mile each day. I walked some, but not every day. FAIL!! ❌
Then in November, the challenge was to keep walking 1 mile a day, and add two workouts a week. I walked some, but didn’t do any workouts. Workouts are intimidating, because I don’t know what I’m doing. FAIL!! ❌
In December, the challenge was to do 12 5K’s in a month. I decided, it’s just walking. I’ve done much harder things this year! I started off strong, then got hit with the crud, and lost momentum because I was sick and it took so long to feel better. I was slow!! It was embarrassing!! My friends in the challenge were posting times of eight minute miles. My times were 15 to 20 minute miles, but I kept going. Since I got behind, I did six a 5K’s in one week so I could finish the challenge before the end of the month!!! But I did it!! Yay!!
There’s a life lesson here. Although I failed the first two challenges, the work I did for those helped set me up for success with the third challenge. Instead of letting perfectionism tell me to stop when I failed, I kept moving as a result, I was able to do something that was crazy. Something that I would’ve never expected myself to accomplish!
