Candid and documentary family sessions are starting to become such a favorite of mine. The more sessions I do, the more I seek out and strive to get those moments captured. I used to think my only goal and only pictures I needed to get were the happy smiles and super posed ones. As a mom of two little boys, I knowwwww that it is virtually impossible to get both of my boys still and both of my boys smiling at the same time. My most loved sessions are the ones that I look over and FEEL the excitement and love from the family. Seeing the kids’ personalities in every photograph. Not striving for a perfect and standing straight smile picture but striving to just have your family and allllll its craziness and beauty captured. Of course, a smile picture is still important don’t get me wrong. But the giggles and zoomies are what really make a family session!! Don’t be afraid to book a session because your kid(s) “won’t stand still”! TRUST me when I tell you, I will make it fun and encourage your littles to be themselves and we will walk away feeling happy and with a gallery full of smiles and personality. When I am old and grey, sure the smile pictures that are picture perfect will be nice to see. But the “imperfect” ones are going to be the ones that take me back in time 🥹💛
