What a beautiful festival evening in our small town β€οΈπ‘
I walked around tonight and just took some photos of our yearly Mitchell Persimmon Festival. There were so many amazing food smells, so many kids running around and laughing with friends, and so many amazing memories by families being made.
Iβve seen some complaining online lately about our small town festival and for some, thatβs so easy to do sitting behind a keyboard and doing nothing else. I, along with MANY other people, love our yearly festival. The time of year you look forward to as a kid, riding and running with friends. The time of year, many college kids and those away from home, come back to their home and visit. The time of year where exhausted parents are up way later than theyβd like to be, making memories with their families.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the Mitchell Chamber of Commerce, the festival Chairs (Katie. Jodi, and Mike) and to the countless volunteers who make this happen. Your efforts donβt go unnoticed. β€οΈ
Also, putting this out into the universeβwouldnβt it be amazing if we as a community could figure out a way for all of our school kids (Iβm talking kindergarten through 12th grade) to get a one night bracelet to use? Fundraising? Donations? Iβm just a mama and a school employee who knows what an amazing gift this could be for all the kids in this community β€οΈβ€οΈ
