Growing up, exposure to my Lakota culture meant everything to me. And it still does. So when my aunt requested photos in our traditional ribbon skirts, of course the answer was yes.
Years ago, I remember searching Ancestry.com looking for photos and records of those who came before me. I came up empty-handed. Historically, Indigenous identities have faced so much erasure, and not being able to see the faces of my ancestors left a void I couldn’t fill.

Photos are more than just images — they are a legacy. They are proof of existence, strength, and joy.

Creating these portraits of my grandma and aunt isn’t just about taking a nice picture; it’s about making sure our history is documented, honored, and passed down. It’s building the archive I wish I had growing up, so the generations after us never have to search in vain to see where they came from.

A long-awaited update and a big life shift. 🤍
After two years of balancing full-time hospital work with seeing therapy clients one day a week, I’m stepping into full time private practice this October! 🌿

This change gives me so much mental space and fresh energy to pour back into photography. I get to show up behind the lens fully present, inspired, and doing more of what I truly love.

My Therapy Practice Focus (Ages 6+):
• Kiddos: Family dynamics, trauma, & emotion regulation (play/somatic-based)
• Women & Adults: Anxiety, life transitions, & unlearning people-pleasing patterns 🤍

Photography: Calendar is wide open starting Oct 10th as I build my caseload! Dates will become more limited as my practice fills up, so reach out soon to grab a spot. 🌿

I think we underestimate just how special the ordinary moments are. The summer evenings in the backyard, bedtime storybooks, cheeseburgers for dinner, baking cookies. It’s the stuff your child will talk about when they’re your age. It matters now, and it’ll matter even more then.

These are the exact moments I love to capture. 🤍

I have a few remaining spots that I’m booking into August. I have some exciting personal milestones coming up this fall, so my books will be closed for family and lifestyle sessions for the entire month of September.

(The only exception: I will have a couple of slots open strictly for quick headshot sessions!)
Otherwise, get your summer family session in before the days get shorter. You won’t regret it. 🌞
