Last night, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey held a press briefing on the shooting from earlier in the day. He talked about “how heroic” officers were in their response, saying “but for their heroic work, the death toll would have been far higher”.

Interim Minneapolis Police Chief Bill Peterson read from a prepared statement before taking a couple questions. It’s still unknown how the shooter died, earlier in the day the police department said it wasn’t known how he died. The shooter, who’s been identified in reports as Carlton Neal Johnson II, had reportedly been fighting eviction proceedings and has shown a history of violent threats with a gun.

Minneapolis Community Safety Commissioner Barnette and Hennepin Sheriff Witt did not speak.

Images from the scene around 15 E Grant in Minneapolis. Minneapolis police says 3 officers were injured, 2 shot after they entered an active shooting scene. They say the shooter is dead and it’s currently unknown how he died.

Minneapolis Police says 4 were transported to the hospital, 1 died. 1 other person was found dead at the scene.

FOX9 has reported the shooter was in the process of being evicted with court filings referring to the suspect as someone who repeatedly had police called after brandishing guns and threatening other residents.

A Minneapolis Police squad car was involved in an accident blocks away while responding to the incident.

Spider-Man attempts to remove racist signs being held by Jake Lang during Lang’s planned rally that ended up lasting 6 minutes without him being able to speak a single word.

Afterwards, Minneapolis Police said they arrested Lang as well as the people inside the 2 vehicles that drove up onto the sidewalk towards the crowd of counter protesters. Minneapolis Police said one of their officers were injured when one of Lang’s vehicles ran over a the foot or ankle of an officer.

Lang was on probation in Washington DC after he plead guilty earlier this year to threats of bodily harm after proclaiming he would hang officers to ex*****on. One of his reported conditions of his probation is not to be arrested in another state or he’d serve his suspended sentence.

Lang was in prison for 4 years while awaiting trial for his participation in the violent January 6 insurrection. He was accused by the government of stealing riot gear from officers and then beating police with it. Video evidence in the case reportedly shows Lang using riot shields and metal bats while kicking and slamming the heads of officers into doors.

Lang was freed from prison after President Trump ordered the Attorney General to seek dismissal of all pending January 6 indictments.

White supremacist Jake Lang arrived at Minneapolis City Hall today for a planned racist rally.

Counter-protesters had said he was not welcome in Minneapolis. This held true, as Jake Lang’s rally lasted 6 minutes and he was unable to say a single word before he fled.

His vehicle and another full of his own private security drove their vehicles onto the sidewalk through counter protesters who had been gathering in preparation for his arrival. While driving through, Lang along with his private security repeatedly assaulted counter protesters as well as the media.

Lang has been holding racist protests around the country and this is the second time he’s attempted to hold such an event in Minneapolis. On January 17, 2026 he arrived with about 5 others for a march he had planned. Instead, protesters chased him through downtown where he eventually fled into and out of the back door of a hotel and into the vehicle operated by a good samaritan who wasn’t aware of what was going on.

Minneapolis provided a statement later in the day stating that Jake Lang was arrested along with all the others in his 2 vehicles for probable cause riot.

Minneapolis Police stated that one officer had their foot or ankle driven over by one of the 2 vehicles.

Featuring Alex Pretti, who was disarmed by federal agents before being shot to death along with ICE on ICE violence, federal agents at Whipple and other scenes of violence in Minneapolis by federal agents.

Smashed up ICE vehicles, utility pole signs, ICE agents filming protesters at Whipple, thousands march through Downtown Minneapolis in one of the largest marches in state history.

18 hours later Alex Pretti was disarmed by federal agents before being shot to death.
