I love maternity photos because they are dreamy, romantic and feminine. It's a chance for two people to celebrate their love and just take a moment to reflect on this beautiful turning point in their life together. Uyen and Ted absolutely shined during their maternity photoshoot in Minneapolis this week.

We were standing on the pier as the sun was setting and Uyen took a deep breath, looked around and said, "This was exactly my vision." That small statement is what I live for as a photographer. I don't just show up and take pictures - there's a lot of planning that happens before photo day to make sure your vision becomes reality.

In just a few short days "Maycember" will come to a close, and summer is officially here. It's been a crazy month at our house with spring photoshoots (love!), track meets, soccer games, band concert, end of school projects, yard work, house projects ~ and I'm ready for a relaxing summer. We're planning a big family trip for end of June which will be a good chance to slow down and spend time together.

A gentle reminder to take some time and slow down this summer. Family photos are a beautiful way to remember your family just as you are right now. Being silly together, just hanging out, laughing with each other.
