New camera day!
I am immensely excited to be adding a Hasselblad X2D II and Hasselblad XCD 25mm f/2.5 V lens to my camera lineup.
Hasselblad has been a dream of mine to own for well over a decade and use in my work due to their unrelenting strive for the highest quality imagery that is physically possible. The Hasselblad name is known as the pinnacle of perfection and quality in the photography world.
If you by chance are unfamiliar with Hasselblad, I guarantee that you have seen imagery captured by their cameras. Some of the most well-known images captured by them came from the Apollo missions to the Moon, and Hasselblad was the first camera on the lunar surface.
A personal photography hero of mine is Ansel Adams, and he heavily used a Hasselblad for his work. In my office I have a print of his of Yosemite National Park that he captured on a Hasselblad. It has been fun to hear every once in a while from people that they compare my work to his, and I take that as an immense compliment, and to continue to better my craft. I hope with this camera that I can capture “Ansel Adams-level” photographs.
My goal with this incredible 100 megapixel medium format camera is to capture the most beautiful, impactful, quality images that I have ever done. I am looking forward to utilizing the current lens that I have for it for photographing sweeping landscapes, vibrant aurora, and massive waves along Lake Superior, and to add more lenses in the future.
