This weekend is the annual Art-a-Whirl in Northeast Mpls. This Friday, May 15, I'll be doing my projection photo booth again. Stop by anytime after 6pm or so and I'll project colorful, random or not-so-random images and make some surreal/psychedelic art. This is a project that I've been working on periodically for years and am hoping to get enough images to put together a real exhibit and I'm always looking for willing participants/collaborators.
And I'll have my usual stack of rock star prints available as well.

The Michigan new-wave bluegrass and Americana singer/guitarist brought his summer tour to Target Center in Minneapolis on Saturday, Aug. 9. The show featured two sets of his adventurous and virtuosic playing.

Hey Minnesota friends - it's Art-a-Whirl time again this coming weekend. For he first time in a while I'll be participating in the events at Studio 404 in the Northrup King Building, showing some new work as well as the usual bunch of rock star photos. And for a little extra art fun, on Friday night, I'll be setting up my projectors for a little psychedelic portrait booth. I did this a few years ago and people had a good time with it. Got to cover the Hippo Campus show at a sold out Armory for the Current last weekend.

On Saturday evening at the Armory, Twin Cities band Hippo Campus made their 33rd and final stop on their U.S. tour, with the U.K. leg beginning in May.
