The Wolfards

yesterday felt like watching two families and two friend groups lift a couple up with both hands. nothing forced. nothing embellished. just genuine admiration for who Sydney and Luke are and who they have become in God’s timing. everywhere i turned i saw someone honoring a parent, affirming a friend, smiling at a memory of these two that had shaped them. it was that kind of day, the kind that reveals the quiet work the Lord has been doing long before anyone gathered under the lights.

people spoke about Sydney with this blend of affection and comedy, laughing about her running late and somehow still talking for hours if you let her. even those jokes carried warmth. they were the kind of quirks only people who love you deeply can tease you about. the list of what they adore about her could fill a book and still miss a few chapters. Luke stood there steady and composed, the kind of man who does not bend easily. and the only moment that undid him was the sight of his bride walking toward him. that look said everything.

every vendor poured themselves out because loving these two was simple. serving them was natural. the whole day carried an ease that you cannot fabricate. it came from character that was shaped long before vows were spoken. their covenant was not just celebrated, it was revered, and rightly so. it was a day i will not forget.

ps. i am dying to see the film. the rolls ship out tomorrow. with 34 of them in the bag, there better be a few heaters hiding in there. i am counting on it, and i think you should too 😏

Lindsay & TJ

marriage has a way of carrying echoes. two people choosing each other becomes something larger than the moment itself. it reaches backward toward the people who raised them and forward toward the lives they may someday shape. love handed down is never perfect, but it leaves traces. small gestures. quiet sacrifices. the kind of things children grow up watching without even realizing they are learning.

there is a mystery in it all. how affection practiced in one generation becomes instinct in the next. how two people standing in a backyard, in the rain, can inherit a legacy and begin one of their own in the same breath. none of us ever sees the full picture. we just feel the weight of what came before us and hope to pass on something worth carrying.

Salau Family

i spent the afternoon with the Salau family, the kind of afternoon that reminds you how simple moments end up carrying the most weight. Allie getting Summer ready, Murphy trying to keep pace with Ethan, both kids moving through the day with the kind of curiosity that makes you stop and pay attention. by the way, something i find honestly adorable is that Murphy and Summer both share the same middle name, James.

we finished the day with soft serve, which felt like the right way to close it out.

weddings will always be my first love in this work. nothing compares to the intensity, the meaning, and the privilege of documenting a day that shapes the rest of a couple’s life. but family sessions have closed the gap more than i ever expected, not because they compete with weddings, but because they complete the story. getting to stay connected with the couples i once photographed as they build families of their own is priceless.

it shows me what vows become.
it shows me what time creates.
and it stirs something in me about whatever my own future might hold, if God wills it.

these sessions remind me that life is built in these ordinary hours, one small moment at a time, and it is an honor to preserve them.

Marisa & Danny

just 10 Hasselblad 500 c/m squares from easily one of the prettiest and most fun weddings i have ever attended.

there was something in the air that day that felt almost impossible to name. sunlight drifting through branches like it had a mind of its own, colors moving as if they were alive, moments stretching just long enough to leave an imprint, and the florals did their part too, blooming with the kind of intention that makes a space feel alive, as if every petal knew exactly what kind of day it was meant to honor. the whole day felt like a page being added to someone’s favorite story, a place where joy did not hurry and every laugh seemed to settle into the room like warm light. these ten frames barely scratch the surface, but they hold the pulse of it.

Annamarie & Colin

this story will forever make me smile. about 36 hours before their wedding, Annamarie and Colin reached out and said, “our photographer can’t make it, but we’re getting married this Saturday in LA at my parents’ house.”

we first met in Austin during one of my free engagement sessions they snagged, and i immediately loved their energy. both of them are taller than me lol, which doesn’t happen often as i stand at 6’, but what stood out more was their kindness and the way they look at each other.

so i said yes. i used my miles, flew out early that morning, they picked me up from the airport, and by noon we were in the middle of a driveway ceremony space that felt like home. their friends and family pulled everything together; florals, tables, lights, music all from the heart.

as the sun set, we slipped away to a nearby park for golden hour, and later everyone danced under string lights in the backyard. at midnight, her brother drove me straight back to the airport and i flew home in the quiet hours of the morning, smiling from ear to ear.

this one reminded me why i do what i do. it’s not about timelines or perfect plans. it’s about love showing up anyway, about people who care for each other enough to make something beautiful happen no matter what.

Annamarie & Colin, i hope your marriage is long and full of joy. i will never forget this day or the way everyone rallied for you both. what an honor it was to witness it.

Sydney & Luke

i told these two that i had road trip coming up to the Midwest in September, and said i would drive through Oklahoma City (where they currently live) on way back to Dallas. of course we had to have another shoot and make some more memories.

the way they care for each other is so gentle, so easy. Luke’s calm steadiness meets Sydney’s bright spirit in a way that feels exclusive. they laugh with their whole faces, and you can tell they’ve built something rooted in friendship first. it’s rare and it’s kind, and getting to photograph it has felt like such a gift.

the best part is that we’re only a month away from their wedding day! celebrating you two will be the best.
