People do things they find easy because, well, they’re easy. Doing something that’s hard to do consistently unless the proper incentive is there. The incentive for doing something easy is usually simply because it is easy. Maybe it’s something you’ve done over and over again and you don’t need to learn much to do what you need to. Maybe the hard way is to learn something new, and the incentive is because you’re getting paid more, or it’s a skill you’ve always wanted to learn. I find that I end up doing a mix of what is easy, and making things hard for myself. Sometimes doing something easy will make things hard on yourself in the long run, and in that way it’s just prolonging difficulties. Another reason I find myself making those hard decisions over the easy ones is that most of the time the hard decisions are the right ones. I’ve been making a lot of hard decisions lately and it doesn’t get easier. Although, I don’t think it’s supposed to. That’s what makes them the hard decisions, the fact that it’s a difficult choice to make or to say something that isn’t easy for you to say even when it’s the right thing to do. I feel like I’ve become a better person through the hard decisions I make, and I definitely see the growth that comes with it. When you have to make the tough decisions, especially ones that will affect your future, make sure to think about what will be the right thing to for you in the long term. Things may be comfy right now, but would staying that way hurt your future?
