Scenes from Wednesday night in a residential street of Minneapolis:

1. The BCA rolls in to investigate the scene where ICE agents shot a man in his home. ICE guards their own crime scene.

2. They deploy chemical agents under a family of bystanders’ car. The baby stops breathing and is rushed to the hospital.

3. ICE agents can’t figure out how to reload their tear gas.

4. They prepare to deploy more tear gas while an ambulance wails in the distance.

5. Agents push the crowd back while deploying multiple kinds of chemical weapons. Protesters fall to the ground or into parked ICE vehicles.

6. Agent does a gleeful little dance while backlit by clouds of deployed chemical weapons.

7. More tear gas, etc. Pepper bullets.

8. We are watching you.

9. ICE flees their own crime scene, but forgets to close their trunk first.

One of my favorite parts of what I do is seeing how people incorporate parts of who they are (both as individuals and as a couple!) into their wedding ceremony. Music is a big deal for this crowd, so naturally the couple’s friend played the fiddle during their ceremony and a group sing was a part of it. 🥲

Have I mentioned that my clients are the coolest? Have I said that enough?? 🤪

I wrote a long, sappy, & self-indulgent caption about this note “chosen family rocks” I noticed left on a table at a wedding. But I deleted everything I wrote because it can be summed up just by restating it: Chosen family rocks.

I loved my friends extra hard this year and they loved me right back. I’m lucky enough to have some biological family that also rocks, but don’t ever let anyone make you feel like your wedding or life in general is lacking if most of your family in it is chosen. xoxo

An ode to spotty light, hazy golden hour, direct sun, after-sundown blue cast - all the “challenging” lighting scenarios that I avoided when I was starting out because they scared me. I know now the weird light is where the magic happens. ✨

I’ve had some couples ask me recently if we can swap their engagement session out for something a little…. spicier. 🌶️

Bo***ir isn’t what I would call my “wheelhouse,” and I love to send folks to for that ✨expert✨ approach - but I’m never going to interrupt you if things get a lil’ steamier.

Most of what I post on here is totally PG but this moody blue hour moment from 2023 was giving secluded makeout sesh in the hottest way & I just had to share (with permission!!!).

Hiiii I’m Abi! 👋 I’m a q***r photographer currently based in the Midwest, but I grew up in NH and am a New England gal through & through. I mostly do weddings these days, and refer to myself unabashedly as a “professional simp.” 💅

I’m crafty with a camera, but here are some other things I am known to do often at weddings, in no particular order:
🌟 yap with your guests about my nifty super 8 camera
🌟 dry my sweaty bangs in the bathroom & maybe google “how long to grow bangs out” (I never will)
🌟 get absolutely hype with you when HOTTOGO comes on
🌟 crack my f’ed up knuckles
🌟 cry, probably*
*definitely if your first dance is to a Brandi Carlisle song
🌟fiercely barricade you from well-meaning but maybe overbearing family members when you want a moment alone

When I’m not at your wedding, I enjoy:
🌟roller blading by headlamp at night (so I can’t run into anyone)
🌟 midnight adventures with (who took every single photo of me in this post btw)
🌟 mediocrely playing my rapidly growing collection of stringed instruments
🌟 sh*t posting on my business account (obviously).

You might not know this,but I really love when couples invite their loved ones to bring their kids along. As a general rule I don’t post photos where children’s faces are visible, so I realized I may read as an “anti-kids-at-weddings” kinda photographer. 🫣

When kids are present at weddings, they are always up to some sh*t. I never run out of things to photograph. I love having young kids “help me” take a photo of their parents, or even handing them my Polaroid to go crazy on their own. I’ll even watch the swearing when there are kids present - promise. 🤭

More than I love photographing weddings with young guests, though, I love supporting my clients in whatever they decide for their wedding. If you want only adults present on your day, I get it. Truly. But if you *do* want to extend the wedding invite to the kids in your life, don’t be scared off by my kid-free Instagram feed. When you see a full gallery of mine, you’ll realize that they’re often the stars of the show. ⭐️

This here is mostly film & a lil digital by me and my second shooter (literally couldn’t tell you which of the digital are mine vs hers because we mesh that well!!!).

On a similar note, I LOVE a family session - but don’t post many here for the same reason. So let’s get that framed iphone pic off your wall & replace it with something a little more YOU. 💖
