Amy Albrecht Photography Madison area family and children's photographer based in Oregon, WI capturing true moments. My name is Amy Albrecht. I don't do "Instagram Styled" photos.

I'm a transplant from Minnesota that calls Oregon, WI home with my husband and two children. Sometimes I have difficulty putting into words what, exactly, is my artistic vision for my photography. Instead of trying to find the most eloquent way to describe it, I will just jot down my thoughts. I LOVE bright color. I want my photos to be realistic. I want my clients to be comfortable in the moment.

I want my clients to wear clothes that make them feel great but also reflective of who they are. Wear makeup, or don't. Get a blow out, or pull your hair up into a ponytail. As a plus-sized momma myself, I understand the urge to not get photos taken until I've "lost the weight". I've been there. I missed years of memories because of it. Send me a message, I can give you some great clothing options that you will feel great in and still get you in front of my camera

I don't want my clients worrying about their children's behavior. I LOVE capturing the giggles and silly moments and even a snuggle from a crying child. These are the real moments of parenthood. I often make a fool of myself just to get a genuine smile out of their kiddos. Or you'll find me chasing kids who explore in the woods or climb on a playground. Don't worry, mom and dad, I will get great photos of all of you together as well as authentic photos. I don't carry a client closet. I don't work with a hair and make-up artist. My styled shoots are rare. Bring your real true self to our session! I tend to edit true-to-life but also bright and cheery vs moody. I specialize in Portraiture and Lifestyle photography mostly of families, couples and kids. In my free time, I dabble in astrophotography and self-portraiture. I decided, after seeing a post from another photographer, that I need to take a break from social media. I've spent way too much time...wasting time and using it to endlessly escape. Ditch the drab, embrace the fab!
Tired of the same old neutral tones in your family portraits? Let's add a pop of color!

Here are some tips for injecting some vibrant personality into your next family photo session:

Color coordination, not matching: Choose a color palette that everyone loves, then have each family member wear a different shade from that range. Think: blues and greens, purples and pinks, or even a fun mix of earth tones

Accessorize with personality: Scarves, hats, jewelry - use colorful accessories to add pops of color without overwhelming the photo. Don't forget playful socks or shoes for the little ones!

Embrace the background: If your photo shoot is outdoors, let the natural scenery inspire your color choices. Think greens and blues for a beach scene, or yellows and oranges for a fall foliage backdrop.

Don't be afraid of bold: Feeling adventurous? Go for a statement piece, like a brightly colored dress or jacket, for one family member. It'll add visual interest and make the photo pop!

Remember, family portraits are all about capturing your unique personalities. Don't be afraid to experiment and have fun with color! ‍‍‍

I was thinking I wanted to do bo***ir. But the furniture debacle makes a mountain out of a molehill! Which furniture do I buy? How do I fit it into my little studio? What? What? What? When? Who? Where? GAHHHH!

So then I was thinking "Amy, why don't you just keep it simple? 1-2 pieces. Minimalist backdrops. White or black. Black & white? Took a class. "As I Am" portraits instead of bo***ir? Women. Empowerment.

Get over the anxiety! Start somewhere! Do something! Don't stand still! Trying....I'm trying....
