The fall colors around our little Delaware ponds right now are excellent. Can you see the great blue heron? I often like wildlife photography where the animal remains small, but you can see their environment. I may have gone overboard with this one, but I really loved those trees. 🍁

It’s fitting that National Mushroom Day falls this time of year, as the mushrooms in my area are really popping right now. I had so much fun finding several patches of viscid violet corts the other day! 💜

As I (im)patiently wait for fall colors to arrive, it sure has been fun to go looking for mushrooms. This little cluster of mushrooms caught my eye & as I was trying to figure out what angle to photograph them, the rotten log they were growing on split apart, and I was able to see the gills. So cool. 🍄‍🟫

We just got back from an upstate New York camping trip. I haven’t been north for fall colors in years and had forgotten just how beautiful the reds are. We had overcast skies for most of the trip, but the reflections were beautiful. 🍁

Welcome, Fall. So glad you’re finally here. 🍂

Although Delaware won’t see fall colors for a while, this is my favorite season and I’m so excited for cooler temps and colorful trees.

I’ve been driving past this roadside patch of sunchokes all week and finally stopped for a photo this evening. They’re such beautiful flowers! ☀️

I watched a couple of feisty hummingbirds in this sea of jewelweed the other day. I’ve always loved jewelweed and it was so neat to watch the hummers and bees throughly enjoying it, too.
