Now through November 30th, support a small business, treat yourself or a loved one to an empowering and joyful experience, AND help us raise money for Middletown’s food banks!

With the rising costs of everything, and no relief in sight, running a full time small business has been scary at times. Still, I count us lucky that we have a stable secondary income in my house, even if it means living paycheck to paycheck. But for so many families in my community, this is not what they’re facing as we continue to be taxed without representation. Healthcare and food are basic human rights, and the fact we are having to choose between the two is inhumane to say the least. So as part of my annual holiday sale, I’m also trying to raise what I can to help organizations focused on supporting our most vulnerable citizens. Frankly, things are bu****it, and we can only save ourselves at this point.

Vote in every election!!!! 📣🗣️

Today is Election Day, and voter turnout out to local elections is notoriously low. This is in spite of the fact that improving your day to day life starts by knowing what is happening in your own community. Picking your community representatives helps improve infrastructure (streets, sidewalks, utilities), improves the quality of your local schools, which then improves home values, and over all quality of life. If want to see systemic change, we have to resist the powers that seek to divide us, and form community again. Health and prosperity starts with community building and support. Apathy and fear are the tools of the oppressor, and we will not be falling for their bu****it anymore!

It's sad girl Autumn in casa Bruja Betty, and s**t is a drag. There is a growing body of scientific evidence that shows that adults do not engage with play enough, and it has a detrimental effect on our over all well being. I feel it, you feel it, we all feel it. I've discussed here and there how I've been experiencing a creative block for the better part of two years now, so lets do something that helps you, and helps me, your friendly neighborhood, eccentric artist.

I would love to add some more small bookings so that I can get some creative wiggles out, and also offer an experience to those who have budgets that don't fit my normal, full luxury experience.

Pulp mini-sessions:

🌟 Arrive at my in-home studio in Middletown, OH ready to shoot- hair and makeup done, with one outfit (you can also utilize my client wardrobe for finishing touches).
🌟 Session will be 20 minutes on one of my pre-existing backdrop that best fits whatever pulp cover we decide to use as inspiration. I'm sharing some examples I like in this post, but I'm open to others.
🌟 Full head-to-toe posing, as well as my professional time and talent.
🌟 2 edited, high resolution digital art images from your session (a $300 value)
🌟 Total price is $350, with $100 down to book your spot (remainder due day of session), and signed contract w/ model release.

No Ai here, just some strategic hair styling, impulsively buying a 90s cordless phone, a white sweater, and some old fashioned photoshop.

Ai has great potential, but in its current form, it’s a social and ecological disaster. The average Ai Data center uses 300,000 gallons of water per day to keep cool. That’s roughly the size of a community with 100k homes (NPR 2025). Rising water and electrical costs will be our new norm if we continue to allow this unchecked technology operate the way it has. Ai is our future, but like any new tech, we have to ensure we are not sacrificing humanity on the pyre of technological advancement. Also, Ai notoriously steals intellectual property from actual artists, so maybe consider hiring one of those artists instead of doing whatever the hot Ai picture trend is. 🫶🏻

Updating this set and pulling it out again for some spooky slumber party vibes!

But seriously, if you’ve been here a while, you know how much I love Halloween. The obvious reasons are the aesthetics, the movies, the Fall time activities, but most of all I love the community building activity of trick-r-treat. I’m blissfully child free by choice, but there is very few things that bring me joy quite like little ghouls and goblins going from house to house to beg for candy. Unfortunately, each year the kid turn out in our neighborhood sees less and less trick-r-treaters despite there being more kids on our street than ever before. I know part of the problem is as the kids disappear, less houses bother with handing out candy. However, I believe one of the biggest reasons we don’t see as many kids is because of truck-r-treat events replacing traditional neighborhood candy begging. Again, I’m not a parent, but don’t y’all remember the thrill and excitement of going from house to house with your friends, seeing people’s decor, and finding the house with the best candy? How have we become so fearful of our neighbors, that we deny ourselves and our kids the opportunity to connect with our community, build important social skills, and have some character building fun? I don’t know man, it just bums me out. Just a reminder that destroying traditional community building activities makes us easier to control, and divide us, so maybe do something radical and take your kids trick-r-treating in your neighborhood. If you live in a neighborhood, rally your neighbors to put on a trick-r-treating event, post about it in local groups. Let’s help people have fun, and connect with our local communities!
