Possibly one of the most impressive I’ve seen. We’re visiting that has an old legend about a . Apparently it was slain by Jason and his Argonauts which does sound rather implausible. I believed the dragon bit though!

I love the Natural History Museum, London in . I visited last week to see the annual Wildlife Photographers exhibition and this year did not disappoint. A lot of thought provoking images and a lot more creative images as well. I think this is one of the most beautiful museums with stunning architecture... here's a few of my favourite animals, many I photograph each time I visit!

The local TW Magazines are great publications in the London Borough of Richmond with a circulation to over 20,000 households.

I coordinate the monthly submissions from my photo club - the Richmond & Twickenham Photographic Society to create the monthly 'On the Wild Side' double page spread of nature and wildlife across the Borough. It's nice to see a few of my own images in the May and June editions alongside excellent shots from friends in the Club.

I had a nice day yesterday strolling around the Isabella Plantation in Richmond Park with Sally. The colours were beautiful even though the azaleas are just starting to go over a little. There were even some native bluebells still in flower.

Spring is abundant with Mandarin ducklings and nesting birds everywhere. Kudos to Sally to keep her camera focused on the nesting jackdaw in the tree when my arms and neck couldn't take it anymore!

Thanks to my friend Collette and her 'Night Photography Master Class', together with friends Sally and Diana from the Richmond & Twickenham Photographic Society, we had a great (if a little chilly) night out in Richmond practicing night photography and in particular, capturing light trails. It's been a long time since I've actually used my tripod and this proved that I was in definite need of a refresher lesson.

I learned that I don't need to use the mirror lock-up feature unless using a bulb setting (we weren't) and I found my cable release very handy. I also mastered (well achieved) how to create the star burst effect on lights (a narrow aperture of at least f/16, preferably a lot higher). In camera processing of images takes quite a long time with long exposures so I only took around 50 images on the night but here's my faves from the evening.

I've been rather disappointed with the flattening of my infra-red images that looked good when exported but lose the contrast when uploaded. I think I've found the reason... trying again...

I have discovered that when exporting images, the CMYK profile should always be selected otherwise Meta does some strange reformatting which ruins the contrast! This is pretty impossible to do on my phone so infra-red images will be uploaded from my Mac in the future.
