Labadee won’t be welcoming Royal Caribbean guests back anytime soon. The cruise line has extended cancellations through April 2028 as violence and instability continue in Haiti.

The latest changes affect nine ships, with scheduled stops being replaced by other ports or days at sea, depending on the sailing. The previous cancellations only extended through July 2027.

Royal Caribbean says it needs to be confident conditions are safe before returning. The company has also said it will continue paying and supporting its employees in Labadee during the pause.

Carnival Cruise Line has clarified an important detail about the two complimentary drinks offered to Platinum and Diamond loyalty members!

According to Carnival's brand ambassador John Heald, the first two drinks you order onboard will automatically count toward your complimentary drink benefit, unless you tell the bartender otherwise.

That means if you order a bottle of water or a soda, it could use up one of your free drinks! However, guests can ask to save their complimentary beverages for later in the cruise and pay for their initial orders instead.

Carnival also confirmed that these two complimentary drinks are separate from the beverages included in its new FunPack bundles, so eligible guests can enjoy both benefits.

What is Royal Caribbean planning next?

During Royal Caribbean Group's latest earnings call, CEO Jason Liberty revealed something pretty interesting: the company owns a lot of land around the world that it doesn't usually talk about.

He didn't share where these properties are located or what the company plans to do with them, but the comment came during a discussion about expanding into land-based all-inclusive resorts beyond the Caribbean.

And here's where things get even more interesting. Royal Caribbean Group reportedly has more than 100 destination-related projects in different stages of development, while Royal Caribbean International is preparing to break ground on its new Royal Beach Club in Lelepa, Vanuatu.

With the company continuing to invest in private destinations and resort experiences, it's hard not to wonder what else could be coming in the future.

Could we eventually see more Royal Caribbean destinations in completely new parts of the world?

Nothing has been officially announced regarding these undisclosed properties, but it's definitely something worth keeping an eye on!

And with the entire Miami skyline in the background, the view is even more spectacular! It still amazes me how effortlessly they maneuver these massive ships, making it all look so easy!

Higher cruise prices aren’t slowing demand for Royal Caribbean Group.

During the company’s third-quarter earnings call, CEO Jason Liberty said booking volumes have increased by a mid-teens percentage year over year since July. Both 2026 and 2027 are ahead of the comparable prior-year booked position, at record rates.

Guests are also spending more once they’re onboard, with spending exceeding the company’s expectations.

Repeat cruisers are helping drive that demand: nearly half of this year’s guests had sailed with the company before, while half of guests are now millennials or younger.

Despite rising cruise prices, Liberty said there’s still room to narrow the pricing gap with land-based vacations. This is a sign the company sees potential for further increases.
