Another close-up shot of the “Water’s Edge” window installation. 🌊 This section of the display highlights the mixed-media birds that are featured throughout the window. The 2D birds are covered with recycled magazine pages, packing foam from shipment boxes, and joint compound for added texture. ♻️

This “Water’s Edge” window installation is a celebration of all things recycled and repurposed. 🌎♻️ Recycled newspaper, bubble wrap, and fabric are hand-dyed and painted throughout the display mixed in with the custom-treated and ripped watercolor sheets to create a landscape scene of the water. 🌊

Growing up in such close proximity to the beach, one of my favorite things to do to give back to the community (and celebrate Earth Day) is a beach clean-up! There are many ways to celebrate Earth Day and show your support for the planet. 🌎 🌱 Here are some ideas:

▫️ Plant a tree or start a garden to support biodiversity and clean air.

▫️ Reduce your energy consumption by turning off lights and unplugging electronics when not in use.

▫️ Switch to reusable water bottles, bags, and containers to reduce plastic waste.

▫️ Choose environmentally-friendly transportation options like biking, walking, or taking public transit.

▫️ Reduce food waste by composting or donating excess food to local organizations.

▫️ Educate yourself and others on environmental issues and advocate for policies that protect the planet.

▫️ Clean up litter in your local park or beach to keep the environment clean and healthy.

▫️ Support environmentally-friendly businesses and products that prioritize sustainability.

▫️ Use natural cleaners and personal care products to reduce your exposure to harmful chemicals.

Material Testing and Prep for the “Water’s Edge” interior window installation. 🌊

The color palette of beautifully balanced and vibrant aquamarines and teals represent the landscape of water for this window installation themed for Earth month. Almost every element of the window display has gone through a step of manipulation, whether through color, treatment, or both. This gives the touch of an organic, fluid texture needed to take the ordinary materials such as watercolor hand-mixed dyes and salt to recreate the extraordinary beauty of those perfect moments of the water’s edge.

Cloverfield Interior Installation 🍀 ⁠

Here are some close-up and behind-the-scenes images of the hundreds of clovers that brought this interior installation for to life! Each clover was hand-dyed with several mixtures of green fabric dye for an organic and one-of-a-kind look to each clover. Some clovers have a layer of old Anthropologie catalog pages adhered to the leaves to add a recycled element. The smaller clover sizes were installed with wire stems for easy installation into each foam base (swipe to the right 👉🏻 to see the beginning stages of the foam installation bases), while the larger and oversized clovers have wooden dowel stems to support the surface area of the clover.

Plus, a bonus photo from the studio of the hand-crafted flowers featured in the final installation- each flower has over 50 individually origami-folded and painted petals!
