She uses a wide array of mediums to explore themes of identity, memory and geological time. Being an artist means expressing thoughts, feelings, experiences through the images I generate. Working with different materials allows me to communicate my expressive ideas to others using the skills and abilities I have explored and developed during my time at Montserrat. During the four years I’ve attend
ed Montserrat, I’ve noticed my understanding of art, of art making and the history of art, has matured considerably. The ability to effectively use the formal elements such as line, value, shape and color in effective compositions has advanced considerably from the level I possessed when I first attended school. I’ve not only gained confidence throughout each semester but I’ve learned about many materials and many different forms of creating art. These works explore the relationship between realism and abstract form. They consists of abstract imagery of trees and other subject matter reflecting the colors felt during the process of manipulation and the chaos surrounding the environment. By using different materials, techniques and gestures, the work will contain a relationship with abstract color palettes and realistic imagery. Other works found within consist of educational exploration studies, works shown in different locations and sold pieces.
