www.guyriendeauphotos.com With a background in architecture, advertising, and photography, I have spent decades blending artistic study, global travel, and professional experience into my work. Since the early 2000s

, I have pursued digital photography, training in cities like Paris and New York, and earning a Master of Photography Diploma under Serge Ramelli. My camera has taken me across Europe, Africa, Asia, and North America, always seeking to balance creativity with evolving technology. My photography journey took on a profoundly deeper meaning eight years ago, when my wife was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease. Our travels together became a way to find peace and beauty in the midst of caregiving. As her disease progressed, each adventure required careful planning and unwavering attention, but these journeys allowed us to stay connected and savor life together. Photography became my sanctuary, a way to cope, reflect, and find purpose. In the early days, I found solace along the Chicago lakefront, capturing the interplay of city and water. Today, my wife requires full-time care and resides in a memory care facility near the cities where we both grew up. While our days of traveling together have ended, photography remains a constant in my life. Weekly visits with her are bittersweet, but photograph continues to bring me immense joy. Each photograph I create is a tribute to resilience, love, and the enduring human spirit. My journey as an Alzheimer’s caregiver has shaped my art and my outlook, reminding me to seek beauty, even in the darkest times. I continue to pledge a percentage of my earnings to the Alzheimer’s Association, using my images to raise awareness and foster understanding for those affected by this disease. I hope my story inspires others facing similar challenges to find their own ways to cope, and to always look for the light - one step, and one photograph, at a time. People sometimes feel they need to be able to articulate why they want a particular work before they are allowed to buy it. That is not how it works.

The attraction does not need a defense. You do not have to be able to explain Timeless Passage - Ponte della Paglia - Venice to someone who asks; you just have to know it belongs in your space.

The explanation, if you want one, tends to arrive later on its own.

Every work that reaches a collector is the result of many decisions, including the decision not to show what came before it.

The finished work is not the whole story. It is the end of a longer, quieter process that most collectors never see.

When you live with Millenium Park - The Bean - Chicago, you are living with the result of the artistic process and all that comes with it.

Interior designers often talk about sightlines. They're the natural path your eye travels when you enter or move through a room.

Most people never think about this consciously, but they feel it. Art placed directly in a sightline changes a room immediately.

Placement is as intentional as the work itself.

Where would you put Cambridge Massachusetts Institute of Technology?

I think "Brant Point Lighthouse - Rosa Rugosa on a Hill - Nantucket MA - Monochrome" could fit into a few different places. Where will you display it?

This dramatic black and white photograph captures Brant Point Lighthouse atop a windswept coastal hill framed by sea roses and streaked with clouds. The monochrome palette highlights contrast, texture, and emotion—turning a vibrant summer scene into a timeless tribute to Nantucket’s maritime heritage.

A lot of people hold off on collecting art because they rent and feel uncertain about committing to walls they do not own. But art does not belong to a wall. It belongs to you.

Renting is not a reason to live with bare walls. It is a reason to collect work that matters enough to keep moving (and growing) with you.

"Cape Porpoise Fisherman Dock - Sunrise in Kennebunkport Maine" and my other work are connected to the people who love them, not just the places they're displayed.

Diana’s Baths – Early Spring Monochrome– White Mountains NH

Diana’s Baths in North Conway is one of those places where spring seems to announce itself in layers. The water gathers momentum as it moves over the stone ledges, while the contrasting edge of the season gives the scene a sense of renewal. The White Mountains have attracted travelers for generations, and places like this continue that tradition by offering beauty, stillness, and a little bit of wonder. I enjoy the vertical framing here because it emphasizes the rise and flow of the falls and gives the image a more intimate, immersive feel.
