I've had a camera in my hand my entire life - my career in photography was never a question of "if," but "when." After spending a few years doing work in the psychology field, my husband helped me take the leap into professional photography by giving me my first DSLR camera and a photography book. Though I can adapt to any style or client’s request, I am a photojournalist by heart and passion. I u

se my camera to tell stories by capturing genuine smile lines, happy tears and loving glances. Rather than cookie cutter poses, I prefer to find perfection in the imperfection. I see your wedding day as a show from start to finish that must be captured as so. "This will make a great spread" or "this shot will look great with the detail shot I took earlier." Every photographer has their go to bag of tricks, but I try my best to think of a unique shot for each time I shoot. Your event is something special and should be treated as such. I want your true personality to shine in photos. People who get to know me call me Nico. A nickname that started in my high school years turned out to be a perfect fit, because Niko in Japanese is the sound effect for smile. Coincidence that I tell people to smile all the time, I think not :)

When I'm not working or spending time with my husband, son and two dogs, I enjoy getting crafty (I have a love/hate relationship with Pinterest), reading my horoscope and going to the beach.

Merdelin Rodriguez is a Cardiac Sonographer with Virtua Health, a devoted wife, and a proud mother of four residing in South Jersey. She currently holds the title of Mrs. Pennsauken America and is preparing to compete for the coveted title of Mrs. New Jersey America 2026 on June 14th.

Driven by a passion for connecting with others and celebrating their journeys, Merdelin created her YouTube channel, M. ROD Spotlight, where she shares inspiring stories from individuals in her community and beyond. Through meaningful conversations and personal experiences, she hopes to encourage others to pursue their dreams and recognize the impact their stories can have on those around them.

In addition to her healthcare career and community involvement, Merdelin is the owner of Shop M.ROD, a small business specializing in customized and personalized apparel and gifts, including T-shirts, hoodies, tumblers, mugs, and more. Her creativity and entrepreneurial spirit allow her to help individuals, organizations, and businesses bring their ideas to life.

As a pageant contestant, community advocate, healthcare professional, and business owner, Merdelin is committed to empowering others. What happens when a lifelong storyteller finally embraces her creativity?

For Carla Cornick , it’s been a journey more than 50 years in the making.

Inspired by her seamstress grandmother and creative mother, Carla taught herself crochet, knitting, quilting, painting, and writing. What started with an afghan for her first child grew into award-winning work across fiber arts, watercolor, oil painting, mixed media, theater, and publishing.

In 2025, Carla published her debut novel, Braids. Today, her art appears in galleries, theaters, and exhibitions throughout the Philadelphia and South Jersey arts community.

A storyteller at heart, Carla explores resilience, identity, connection, and the beauty of everyday life through paint, fabric, words, and performance.

This Saturday, catch Carla at the Philadelphia Pancakes & Booze Art Show alongside 100+ artists at one of the city’s most unique underground art events.
