This weekend I spent some time in Big Bear with my family where we walked a portion of the Towne Trail in the San Bernardino National Forest. The light was reflecting in such a way that I thought it would be a good opportunity to see what I could do with contrast and a polarizing filter.
I'm very happy with the way all of these shots turned out. The sharp, rigid textures of the forest make me especially happy when contrasted with the otherwise fluffy snow and bright strands of sunlight.
All images were shot on my Canon EOS 5D Mark 3 with a Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 lens and a circular polarizing filter.
