Cal Jones received his Bachelors Degree in Art from Black Hills State University, and his Masters Degree in Painting from the University of Northern Colorado. and Europe, and is as comfortable working in airbrushed photo realism to expressively graphic styles. When asked to give a statement about his work he commented, " In my personal work, I simply explore the elements of form and application to

create sensuous, visually aesthetic non-objective paintings. The viewer can bring any subjective interpretation they wish to the piece. But when working with a client, we need to discuss the specific imagery and style necessary to create the environment and what the work needs to communicate to the audience."

Where as I appreciate the premise behind such ordinances to facilitate an ascetically cohesive community identity, this mural cannot be considered egregiously offensive or out of context. By conventional standards this mural is extremely well crafted. It is a shame that such bureaucratic trivialities supersede artistic expression that enhances our community.
