Quick work trip up to Montgomery, New Jersey for a Whole Foods grand opening photo shoot. Started the trip at Newark Airport, then spent the day documenting the new store and the line of people coming out for opening day.

During a little downtime, I asked ChatGPT for a scenic place to check out and ended up at Rainbow Hill at Sourland Mountain Preserve. The drive through the hills was beautiful, but the preserve itself didn’t have much I could photograph quickly — mostly small macro details I would’ve explored if I had more time. Then Google sent me looking for a waterfall and somehow dropped me in a shopping plaza. So… not every photo adventure goes exactly as planned.

Finished the day after the shoot with a nice cold beer at Tigers Tale. I think I may have found my new favorite — Samuel Adams Summer Ale.

Save the date for the 11th Annual Night for the Natural Areas!

This photo was taken at the C-18 Canal off PGA Boulevard in the Cypress Run area of Loxahatchee Slough Natural Area, near the kayak and canoe launch. It’s a beautiful, peaceful-looking spot, but it still has plenty of wild Florida in it — I’ve seen some massive alligators in this river. This image was created to help promote the 11th Annual Night for the Natural Areas, a fundraiser supporting the education, adventure, and conservation programs of Palm Beach County’s Natural Areas. I’ll also be donating this print for the raffle as a 24x36 canvas with a black frame. Join the event on Saturday, August 15, from 2–7 PM at Tequesta Brewing Company, 287 US Highway 1 in Tequesta. A $30 donation includes one beer, bites by Tequesta Smokehouse and Hogsnappers, plus a raffle ticket for a chance to win nature photography and artwork from local artists.

I took the Margaritaville ship from the Port of Palm Beach to Nassau, Bahamas, enjoyed those beautiful turquoise waters, and ended the trip with an amazing sunrise at the Palm Beach Inlet. 🌴🚢🌅

Driving through South Florida on Wednesday, I came across a scene that was hard to forget — flames and heavy smoke rising from the Everglades wildfires, with the smoke plume stretching so far you could see it from Palm Beach County. Reports from NASA and local news showed multiple fires burning across western Miami-Dade near the Everglades this week, including the Quarry 2, Well, and Coptic fires, fueled by dry conditions and intense heat. Seeing it from the road made the scale feel very real.
