‼️LONG POST, PLEASE READ!!‼️
As the owner of S+E Photography, I take every photography session seriously and always make sure I’m prepared for my clients. When someone books a session with me, I schedule my time, travel to the location, bring my equipment, and make sure everything is ready so I can give them the best photos possible. Unfortunately, I’ve had several situations where people say they are going to meet for a session, confirm the plans, and then never show up.
This has happened more than once and with multiple people. I’ll arrive at the location, at the scheduled time and wait, thinking maybe they are just running late. I’ll send messages to check in, but sometimes I get no response at all. Being left waiting with no communication can be very frustrating, especially when the time was set aside specifically for that person.
Running S+E Photography means I try my best to stay professional and respectful to everyone. I always communicate clearly, confirm sessions, and show up ready to work. When someone doesn’t show up or respond, it doesn’t just waste a little bit of time—it takes away time that I could have used to book another client who truly wanted a session.
I completely understand that things can happen unexpectedly. Life gets busy, plans change, and emergencies come up. I would never be upset with someone for needing to cancel or reschedule. However, the respectful thing to do is simply send a quick message and let me know what’s going on or “I can’t make it today”.
Not showing up and ignoring messages is not fair to any small business owner. Photographers put time, effort, and preparation into every single session. When people do this repeatedly, it makes things much harder for small businesses like S+E Photography that are working hard to grow and provide for a family.
In any shape or from am I trying to be rude or mean. I just don’t want to “waste” gas going to a location, and that person not be there…
Moving forward, I just ask that everyone please be respectful when booking sessions. If you schedule with me, please communicate if something changes or if you can’t make it. A simple message goes a long way. I truly appreciate all of the clients who show up, support my work, and respect my time. Your support means everything to me. 📸
