www.cawphotographystudio.com My photos tend to focus on plants, animals, and landscapes.

I'm originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania but moved to Ohio after college. I have a Bachelor of Science from Ohio University and have worked in IT for the past 28 years. About 6 years ago I bought my first 'real' camera (Canon Rebel T5i, for those who are interested), and started taking pictures around Cincinnati. I started going to the Cincinnati Nature Center, entered their annual photo conte

st, and won 2nd place for 2 photographs. Then I was invited to be in their annual photo show, Nature in Focus. From there I started doing some in-person shows and selling on Etsy, and now selling on my own website. I also haul my gear on vacation for some more exotic locations. Please check out my work, and if you find something you like, consider bringing it home. To learn more about me and my work, please visit my website at

A blur-gray gnatcatcher pausing at Armco Park in Lebanon, Ohio. I always love when these tiny birds show up—so light, so quick, and so easy to miss if you’re not watching closely.
Moments like this are a good reminder to slow down and notice the small things happening all around us in nature. Have you ever spotted one of these little birds before?

A little sunshine, a little attitude, and a whole lot of personality. This relaxed meerkat at the Cincinnati Zoo gave me the kind of moment I love capturing most — the ones that feel both playful and perfectly at ease in their surroundings.
Wildlife has a way of reminding us to slow down and enjoy the view. What kind of mood does this little guy put you in?

I wanted to share this view from Athens: the Hocking River winding beside Ohio University as the sunset casts warm, golden light across the water. The green banks frame the scene and the Convocation Center sits quietly in the distance, a small touch of campus within the landscape. If this view looks familiar, tell me where you first saw it or a memory it brings up. See it here: (Link in comments)

There’s something so grounding about scenes like this — the soft movement of the water, the moss-covered rock, and the way the forest seems to wrap everything in calm. Hocking Hills always has a way of reminding me to slow down and notice the quiet details.
Would you rather be here with a camera, a sketchbook, or just a little time to breathe?

The tulips at the Cincinnati Zoo were caught at the very end of their bloom, and I think that quiet finish gives them a beauty all their own. There’s something special about flowers in that last stage — a little softer, a little more reflective, but still full of color and grace.
I love when a moment in nature feels fleeting like this. It’s a reminder that even as a season winds down, there’s still plenty worth pausing for. What do you notice first in this scene?

Devil’s Bathtub always has a way of pulling me in with that mix of still water, rugged stone, and the kind of quiet that makes you slow down for a minute. Hidden places like this in Hocking Hills State Park remind me why I keep going back — there’s always another scene waiting if you take the time to look for it.

I love how the movement of the water and the texture of the surrounding rock work together here to create such a calm, grounded moment. Have you ever visited Devil’s Bathtub, or is it on your Hocking Hills list?

I added a new piece to the shop called Calm in Lavender. The soft purple tones and subtle textures give it a quiet, steady presence that suits a bedroom, hallway, or office. Take a look and preview it on your wall here: (Link in comments)
