www.cawphotographystudio.com My photos tend to focus on plants, animals, and landscapes.

I'm originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania but moved to Ohio after college. I have a Bachelor of Science from Ohio University and have worked in IT for the past 28 years. About 6 years ago I bought my first 'real' camera (Canon Rebel T5i, for those who are interested), and started taking pictures around Cincinnati. I started going to the Cincinnati Nature Center, entered their annual photo conte

st, and won 2nd place for 2 photographs. Then I was invited to be in their annual photo show, Nature in Focus. From there I started doing some in-person shows and selling on Etsy, and now selling on my own website. I also haul my gear on vacation for some more exotic locations. Please check out my work, and if you find something you like, consider bringing it home. To learn more about me and my work, please visit my website at

A Yellowstone sunrise has a way of changing the whole feel of the morning. In this quiet August light, the first glow reaches across the landscape and gives the park that peaceful, wide-open feeling it’s known for.
Moments like this are why I love photographing the natural world — there’s always something new to notice when the day is just beginning. Have you ever watched the sunrise in a place that made you want to stay a little longer?

Pelicans add so much life to a coastal scene like this, with each bird bringing its own rhythm to the shoreline. The rocky edge, open water, and movement in the flock all work together to create a moment that feels full of energy and connection to the coast.
California always has a way of offering scenes that are simple at first glance, then more rewarding the longer you look. What details catch your eye first in this one?

Yellowstone mornings have a way of slowing everything down. This August sunrise in Yellowstone National Park felt quiet, wide open, and full of that early light you can only catch for a few brief minutes.
Moments like this are why I love spending time with my camera in places where the landscape can simply breathe. Have you ever watched the sun come up in the park?

I wanted to share a quiet corner of Hocking Hills called Whispers of Cedar Falls. Water cascades over smooth rocks beneath a canopy of evergreens, and the soft light brings out the textures and cool, leafy tones. If you’d like to see how it looks on a wall, take a closer look: (Link in comments)

Perched high above the Pacific, this WWII-era bunker has a way of stopping you in your tracks. Built for observation and defense, it now stands alone on the bluff—weathered, isolated, and seemingly suspended in mid-air above Gray Whale Cove.
There’s something powerful about places like this: they carry history, but they also carry the marks of time, erosion, and change. Along Highway 1, the coastline keeps reshaping the story.
Have you ever come across a place that felt both abandoned and unforgettable at the same time?

An osprey paused in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, offering one of those quiet moments that makes wildlife photography so rewarding.
I always love when a scene feels both still and alive at the same time — the kind of moment that reminds you how much patience the wild can ask for, and how generous it can be when it finally reveals something special.
Have you ever seen an osprey in the wild?

Devil’s Slide overlook has one of those views that immediately pulls you in — rugged cliffs, shifting Pacific water, and that feeling that the coastline is always alive with motion.

I love how this stretch of the Pacific Coast Highway shows both the strength and the calm of the ocean at the same time. Would you stop here for the view?

A snowshoe hare in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, photographed in August 2024. I always love the way wildlife moments like this invite us to slow down and really pay attention to the details of the landscape around us. Even a brief encounter can feel unforgettable when you’re lucky enough to catch it at just the right time.
Yellowstone never stops offering little surprises like this, and that’s part of what makes photographing there so rewarding. Have you ever had a wildlife moment that stayed with you long after the trip was over?

I wanted to share this scene from Robinson Falls in Boch Hollow Nature Preserve. It shows a waterfall tumbling over rugged rocks, icicles dangling from the ledges, and a calm pool that mirrors the surrounding leaves.
