I'm originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania but moved to Ohio after college. I have a Bachelor of Science from Ohio University and have worked in IT for the past 28 years. About 6 years ago I bought my first 'real' camera (Canon Rebel T5i, for those who are interested), and started taking pictures around Cincinnati. I started going to the Cincinnati Nature Center, entered their annual photo contest, and won 2nd place for 2 photographs. Then I was invited to be in their annual photo show, Nature in Focus. From there I started doing some in-person shows and selling on Etsy, and now selling on my own website. I also haul my gear on vacation for some more exotic locations. Along the rugged shoreline at Point Lobos State Natural Reserve, two gulls pause above the Pacific. One seems ready to wander, while the other keeps a watchful eye on the water—each taking in the coast in its own way.

I love how the soft gray-blue sea and weathered rocks set the scene for this small wildlife moment. Point Lobos, near Carmel-by-the-Sea, California, always offers something worth slowing down to notice.

From Artist Point, Lower Falls reveals its full sense of scale—plunging into the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone as the river winds far below. Even from about two miles away, the cascade draws the eye through the rugged canyon, past sunlit rock and evergreen ridges, to the open sky above.

I photographed this view in August 2024 during a visit to Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. It’s a scene that makes you pause and take in just how immense and powerful this landscape is.

A little burst of color along the California coast 🌿

At Point Lobos State Natural Reserve near Carmel-by-the-Sea, wildflowers brighten the rugged shoreline—purple blooms and vivid orange poppies set against weathered rocks and the cool Pacific. I love how this view invites you to slow down and notice the small details, while the ocean and distant headland stretch the scene out toward the horizon.

Here’s "Snowball Serenade." Cincinnati Music Hall sits against a clear winter sky, its red brick and Gothic Revival details softened by fresh snow while a red-and-white decorative sphere adds a playful pop in the foreground. A quiet stretch of Yellowstone, where the river winds through open meadow beneath a big summer sky. I photographed this scene in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, in August 2024, and I still love how the curve of the water draws my eye toward the distant mountains. The pines frame the view, but leave plenty of room for the landscape to open up.

It’s the kind of place that makes you pause, take a deep breath, and remember just how much beauty there is to discover outdoors. Have you visited Yellowstone, or is it still on your travel list?

A little summer stillness from Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. I photographed this mountain-and-lake view in August 2024, when the evergreen slopes and wide blue sky seemed to stretch endlessly beyond the shore.

The calm water mirrored the trees and mountains, giving the whole scene a wonderfully peaceful feeling. I love how a quiet reflection can make you pause and take in the landscape all over again.
