Over 3000 pictures in six days!

One of my favorite parts of being involved with the Green Lake County Fair for so many years is getting to watch these kids grow up through their projects. I’ve photographed some of them as nervous little kids entering the ring for the first time and watched them grow into confident young adults.

Along the way, I’ve built relationships with so many of these kids and their families, and those relationships mean more to me than I can put into words.

And every year, when one of those aging-out kids comes up, gives me a hug, and thanks me for taking their pictures all these years…I get overwhelmed. I can still picture them as that little kid in the ring, and suddenly I’m capturing their final fair.

It’s so much more than taking pictures. I get to capture a small piece of their story, year after year, and I’m incredibly grateful for that. 📸❤️
