Behind every photoshoot, there’s a photographer who is probably way more anxious than she looks.
Before every single session, I go over SO many poses in my head. I wonder if my clients are going to appreciate my vibe, if I’ll be too much, or somehow not enough. I’m thinking through camera settings for every angle, every location, every little detail, just hoping I can execute exactly what they’re envisioning.
Then I leave the session and spend the entire drive home crossing my fingers that I got all the good shots.
Did I talk too much?
Did they feel comfortable?
Did I make them feel confident?
Did I actually walk them through the entire session like I promised?
Did I give them the experience they deserved?
And then I sit down for 5+ hours editing 40+ photos… STILL DOUBTING MYSELF. WHY? Because every single time, I send that gallery and somehow manage to exceed both my own expectations AND my clients.
Every photoshoot, I get better.
Every time I doubt myself, I prove to myself that I never should have.
My biggest goal will always be making every person on the other side of my camera feel confident, comfortable, and beautiful. I want you to look at your gallery and see yourself in a way you can cherish for years and years to come.
And honestly, I’m working on giving myself that same confidence on my side of the camera.
Because I AM good at this.
I can admire other photographers. I can be inspired by their creativity, learn from them, and appreciate their work without taking away from my own.
Because my photography is unique to ME.
My vision is unique to ME.
And ARW. Co. is mine 🏹
That’s something I should always be confident in and proud of 🖤
So here’s to continuing to grow, continuing to create, and hopefully learning to trust myself a little more along the way 📸
